Ed Talfan
Creative Director & CEO
Ed’s recent producer credits include Gareth Evans feature HAVOC (2024), starring Tom Hardy and Forest Whitaker, THE PEMBROKESHIRE MURDERS (2021) starring Luke Evans, and APOSTLE (2018), starring Michael Sheen and Dan Stevens. Ed also produced episode 5 of season 1 of GANGS OF LONDON (2020), again directed by Gareth Evans. Ed Executive Produced and co-created BBC drama series HIDDEN / CRAITH (2018-22) and was Executive Producer on BBC drama STEELTOWN MURDERS (2023).
In addition to his work at Severn Screen, Ed co-created and produced three series of award-winning drama HINTERLAND (2013-2016). He is also a board member of Hijinx Theatre.
HANNAH THOMAS
HEAD OF DRAMA
Hannah works across the Severn Screen slate developing a range of content for the international film and television market. Between 2017 and 2021 Hannah produced three series of crime drama HIDDEN/CRAITH for S4C/BBC. In 2023 produced four part BBC drama STEELTOWN MURDERS.
Prior to joining the team at Severn Screen Hannah was Head of Production at Ffilm Cymru Wales. At FfCW she was Executive Producer on I AM NOT A WITCH. The acclaimed film from Zambian-Welsh director Rungano Nyoni was screened at the Cannes Film Festival and won the prestigious Best Debut Film award at BAFTA.
ANNA EVANS
HEAD OF PRODUCTION
Anna has been working with Severn Screen since 2017, and joined full-time in 2019 as our Head of Production working accross HAVOC (Netflix), STEELTOWN MURDERS (BBC) & CRAITH/HIDDEN S3 (S4C/BBC). Previously she was the Line Producer on the our first two series of CRAITH/HIDDEN (BBC/S4C) & Production Manager on APOSTLE (Netflix). Prior to joining Severn, Anna worked as Production Executive, Production Manager, 2nd AD, and Studio Manager across a range of productions including I HATE SUZIE (Bad Wolf/Sky), HINTERLAND S3 (BBC/S4C), MR NICE (Feature/Mr Nice Productions), DR WHO (BBC), THE BASTARD EXECUTIONER (Twentieth Century Fox), DA VINCI’S DEMONS (STARZ), MERLIN S1-3 (BBC).
MATHEW Talfan
HEAD OF OPERATIONS
Mathew Joined Severn in 2021 having worked in Wales’ creative industries for over 30 years. He initially trained as a Production Manager, later moving into the world of advertising and design, running his own agency in Cardiff for ten years. Between 2008 and 2015 he was Head of External Affairs at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama before returning to work as a freelance brand consultant, where he worked on a range of projects with clients including Welsh Government, Creative Wales, Transport for Wales, Cadw, Hodge Bank and Amgueddfa Cymru. Mathew is also Chair of Ffotogallery, a Cardiff based arts organisation
Tilly ASHTON
Sustainability adviser
Tilly Ashton is Sustainability lead at Severn. With a background in PR, campaign management and journalism within the broad field of sustainability, she moved into coordination roles in film production, aiming to initiate better sustainable working practices. She worked as Production Sustainability Advisor on the Netflix film HAVOC and more recently on BBC drama STEELTOWN MURDERS. In 2021/22 Tilly led a Ffilm Cymru/Clwstwr funded project (‘Maximising Havoc’) as part of the Green Cymru Challenge Fund, highlighting the environmental challenges, successes and key learnings gathered during the making of HAVOC. Tilly also runs Sustainable Production courses for BAFTA Albert and works more widely across the industry on a consultancy basis.
ZOë Gregory-wozencroft
development executive
Zoë first worked with Severn Screen in 2019, where she joined as a runner on THE PEMBROKESHIRE MURDERS. She then went on to work freelance in both production and AD departments, until she returned to the company as Development Executive in early 2022. She now works as a Development Executive, working closely across Severn's slate with Ed and Hannah, as well as scouting new writers, evolving ideas and nurturing talent. Zoë also acted as Script Editor on STEELTOWN MURDERS.
BRANWEN EVANS
PRODUCTION MANAGER
Branwen is an experienced Production Manager who has worked on a number of projects including STEELTOWN MURDERS, GANGS OF LONDON, THE PEMBROKESHIRE MURDERS, APOSTLE, CRAITH/HIDDEN and HINTERLAND. Prior to joining Severn Branwen worked as Production Co-ordinator on Ruth Jones’ STELLA (Sky), Marc Evans feature PATAGONIA (S4C) starring Matthew Rhys, and CASUALTY (BBC). She began her career in 2001 working as a research at ITV Wales before going on to work as a location scout on DOCTOR WHO.
